The Climate Museum Hub
The Climate Museum Hub provided a center for climate dialogue. At the Hub, visitors could learn more about the Museum, see a photography exhibition, and create their own Climate Signals message. Over six weeks, more than 5,500 people visited the Climate Museum Hub.
This space was generously donated by the Trust for Governors Island and located at the Admiral’s House in historic Nolan Park. It was open from September 21 through October 28, 2018.
Climate Changers of New York
This exhibition presented large-scale portraits of eleven New Yorkers who are moving us forward on climate. The series, photographed by David Noles, demonstrated the scope and variety of meaningful climate action and the diversity of climate leaders. The show invited us to imagine how this vital work can become central to our own identities and daily lives, and the subjects’ statements underscored the centrality of connection and collaboration to making progress on climate.
Climate Changers of New York was presented in partnership with the NYC Climate Action Alliance.
Create Your Own Climate Signal
This digital interactive invited Hub visitors to write their own phrases on a mock traffic signal, answering the question, “What would you write about climate change on a traffic sign?” Create Your Own Climate Signal jumpstarted conversations about climate change and prompted visitors to identify themselves as messengers for climate action.
